October 1st - 3rd
Hello families,
This week was short but we managed to pack a lot of learning in. The best part was ending the week with our school Terry Fox Assembly and Run. As a community we ran 100s of laps, cheering each other on along the way. We noticed exceptional sportsmanship, leadership, and a lot of smiles. We also ended our day with a lovely classroom awards ceremony, where students created awards for classmates. See the photo below of us showing off our beautiful awards.
Learning Intentions:
Grade 3:
I can identify the place value of each digit in natural number
I can express natural numbers using words and numerals
Grade 4:
I can identify the place value of each digit in a number including tenths and hundredths
This week, we took our learning to PE class and timed each other doing some football drills, sharing our times to include tenths and hundredths. We have been practicing naming numbers, and using the word AND where we notice a decimal. We will continue to build our understanding throughout the year, but we are off to a great start.
Learning Intentions:
Grade 3/4
I can extend brush skills and further experimentation with the medium so as to achieve special effects such as textures.
I can mix paints to show intensity of colour.
We wrapped up our Art Cards this week by finishing our mountains and sun painting. Students ripped their papers to create a torn effect, where the white paper contrasts their painting. These turned out stunning! See below for the beautiful creations our class made.
Enjoy the Autumn weather! I hope to see you all soon.
